Bhola the Donkey – A Tale of Value, Loyalty & Realization 🐾

Hariram sat outside his hut, gazing at the distant fields.
The blazing afternoon heat had now softened into a cool shade.
Greenery danced along the boundaries of the fields, and the sun was slowly setting behind the hills.

Beside him lay Bhola – an old, weary donkey.
His eyes blinked slowly, his back hunched, skin wrinkled, and legs no longer strong.
But in his eyes—still the same innocence, the same trust, the same belonging.

The chirping of birds and cool breeze filled the village air with a sense of new beginnings, but Hariram’s heart was restless.

“Bhola…” he whispered, “You’ve grown old.
I can still manage without you… but what should I do with you now?”

Bhola looked at him – quietly, without questions or expectations.
As if he already understood… that his time had come.

Hariram was torn between two emotions – practicality and attachment.
For years, Bhola had plowed his fields, carried loads, fetched water.
But now? He was just a burden.

“Maybe… it’s best if I leave him in the jungle,” Hariram mumbled to himself, trying to convince his own heart.
